Here's a crash course in body brushing basics:
With a soft brush (like the JOYA Crystal Brush Roller), you brush to massage the surface of your skin. You do that on dry skin (Dry Body Brushing) and then rinse off the toxins and dead skin cells released by the brushing and left on the skin). After the shower you can apply a moisturiser with essential oils (like Grapefruit) to enhance the effect.
Dry brushing promotes lymphatic drainage and therefore detoxes the whole body. That's why it's important to move the brush in the same direction in which lymphatic fluid flows: towards the heart. So you go up your legs, brushing only upwards (not up and down or circles), up the lower back and tummy (here you can brush in clockwise motion). Then down the neck and down the arms towards your heart.
Never use hard brushes and don’t brush on wounds.
If cellulite – toxins stored in the fat cells – is a challenge for you – brush those areas a bit longer, not harder! As such the whole treatment only takes about 3 minutes.
Do you agree, glowing skin, enhanced overall well-being and smooth legs are worth these few minutes? So get yourself a body brush. If you like to triple the effect of the dry brushing treatment use the JOYA Crystal Massage Brush which combines the benefits of brushing with the detoxification of massage plus the supporting energies of crystals.
June 2017: The JOYA Brush has been discontinued.
